Changes in spectral parameters across selected regions of the fetal (a) and year-old incisor (b), shown by white lines in the Fig., show significant linear mineral:matrix increases in the mineralization front and the DEJ, with only a slight increase in the crystallinity parameter in the same areas. The linear regions analyzed are shown in the micrographs of the fields marked with an asterisk in Figs. 2a and 3a. P = Pulp, D = Dentin, E = Enamel. Crystallinity values for enamel pixels were not computed.
