The free-closing kinematic center movement traces were situated below the opening traces (A). However, compression in the joint during closing, as the result of a manually applied counteracting force on the chin, shifted the closing movement traces upward and made them coincide with the opening traces (B). Opening traces are gray, closing traces black.
