Figure. Specimen preparation and microtensile test results. (A) Preparation of specimens. Roots were sectioned (i), and the enamel’s labial aspect was ground flat (g). In Group A (teeth, n = 8), resin composite was built up in an increment (A1), and in Group B (teeth, n = 8), 3 separate composite resin blocks were placed (B1). Restored teeth in both groups were sectioned (A2, B2), and specimens (100 and 39, respectively) were tested in tension. (B) Microtensile test results. Percentages of maximum microtensile bond strength results within each tooth (PMPa), per distance to incisal end of the restoration, in 9 categories (NDistanc). Boxplots show distributions of PMPa (in %) per groups (A,B) and NDistances.
