Outward fluid flow of liner groups (conventional and light-cured GIC) stopped earlier than that of bonding groups (low-shrinkage and high-shrinkage resin groups), which exhibited continuing outward fluid flow for at least 15 min. Only the mean values (n = 8 teeth per group except for the conventional GIC group, n = 7) are shown for clarity. The standard deviation for each group was typically in the range 1020% of the mean. LC-GIC = light-cured glass-ionomer cement; C-GIC = conventional glass-ionomer cement; LSC = low-shrinkage composite; HSC = high-shrinkage composite.
