Residual Stress in Composites with the Thin-ring-slitting Approach

Figure 2. The change in the circumferential residual stress ({sigma}{theta}ave) for Z100, Herculite, and Heliomolar. The ring was cut at 10 min (solid line) and 24 hrs (dotted line) after final curing. Stress was measured at five-minute intervals until 60 min and then at 2 hrs and 24 hrs.

Figure 3. Correlation of the circumferential residual stress between the thick- (n = 14) and thin-walled (n = 10) composite rings. The ring of each composite material (Z100, Herculite, Heliomolar) was cut at 1 hr and 24 hrs and measured 24 hrs later.
