Aluminum foil pouch packaging in pre-measured amalgam capsules
V. W. Rinne
Examination of the aluminum foil pouch used in some pre-measured amalgam
capsules for mercury packaging revealed the formation of an unknown
substance after trituration. This substance was determined to be aluminum
oxide and, in the amorphous or poorly crystallized hydrated form, may be a
contaminate of the amalgam alloy.
