This special edition of abstracts from past Divisional meetings covers the period from a little over a year ago to the present, and is in compliance with Council's directive that publication of these abstracts be kept on a regular schedule to make them as current as possible. The timing, as you will recall, was designed to keep to a minimum the time between meetings and the publication of the abstracts.

Publication of Divisional abstracts meets one of the prime objectives of the Association, by providing for the exchange of the latest and most up-to-date information on dental science being performed around the world.

In addition to solving the problem of timeliness, this issue also addresses the problem of size, by separating the abstracts from the printed Proceedings, thus creating two more modest and economical volumes instead of one huge and costly book.
