Truncated Poisson Distribution with Optimization Techniques in the Epidemiology of Caries

A truncated Poisson distribution provides a closer fit to observed caries in a sample of 10- to 11-year-old children than a previously reported chain binomial distribution. Operations research techniques are used in estimating a parameter.
