Oblique cephalometric radiographs were used to study mandibular resorption and denture settling on 45 patients wearing complete dentures; patients had either anatomic, nonanatomic, or semianatomic posterior teeth. The anatomic occlusal group had significantly less resorption and somewhat less denture movement from rest position to centric occlusion during five to seven years.
