The final reaction products of dicalcium phosphate dihydrate and fluoride are either fluorapatite (FAP), calcium fluoride (CaF2), or a mixture of both, depending on the initial F/Ca ratio. A method is presented to estimate the FAP/CaF2 ratio in the final reaction product from the initial F/Ca ratio.
