Ozone and glycol vapor were evaluated for effectiveness in the decontamination of air in a closed room. At ozone concentrations of 1.0 ppm (toxic dose for humans and animals), more than 90% of Streptococcus mitis and Staphylococcus epidermidis was removed from the air within five minutes. No airborne reductions were noted at the threshold limit value concentration of ozone (0.1 ppm). Two glycol aerosols did not affect 60-minute reductions in the number of bacteria.
