Penetration of Commercial and Dental Waxes

J. M. POWERS 1 and R. G. CRAIG 1

1 School of Dentistry, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104, USA

Penetration of commercial and dental waxes was studied. Measurements indicated that resistance of paraffin and dental inlay waxes to penetration was closely related to the temperature at which solid-solid transformations occurred. Annealed waxes were more resistant to penetration than unannealed waxes.
