Role of Attrition and Occlusal Contact in the Physiology of the Rat Incisor: VII. Formation of Impeded and Unimpeded Incisors in Magnesium-Deficient Rats

Odontogenesis in the basal end of the rat incisor depends to a considerable degree on the amount of occlusal pressure that is present and the amount of eruption that results. When occlusal pressure is removed and a certain amount of eruption takes place, dental tissues will form in the normal pattern, even under conditions of severe nutritional or hormonal deficiencies.
