T. J. BEVERIDGE 1 and M. GOLDNER 1

1 Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

The presence of anaerobic diphtheroids in subgingival plaque isolates from 79 individuals was analyzed on a statistical basis; a 26% incidence was found in periodontally diseased patients, compared with 4% in clinically normal individuals. No statistically significant increase was observed with increased severity of periodontal disease.
