Age Changes in the Occlusal Pattern of Deciduous Dentition

RAM S. NANDA 1, INAMULLAH KHAN 1, and REENA ANAND 1

1 Division of Orthodontics and Pedodontics, Dental College and Hospital, Lucknow, India

The occlusal patterns of 2,500 children, 2 to 6 years of age, were examined. A straight, terminal plane relationship predominated at all ages. The termination patterns seemed to change with age, and this was caused by mesial migration of the mandibular arch and by mesial mandibular shift.
