Intracellular protein components of six strains of cariogenic streptococci were studied by polyacrylamide disk gel electrophoresis. The proteins were separable into distinct and reproducible patterns. Strains GS-S and NCTC 10449 had a similar electrophoretic protein pattern. whereas strains K-IR. SL-1, HS-6, and FA-I differed in their protein patterns.
