The tin-containing product of the reaction of stannous fluoride solutions with synthetic hydroxyapatite was studied by means of Xray diffraction. Data were collected from a single crystal specimen and this compound was identified as Sn3PO4F3. The crystals are rhombohedral and are unrelated to the parent hydroxyapatite.
