Effect of Actinobolin on Nucleic Acid and Protein Synthesis in Streptococcus faecalis

Actinobolin, an antibiotic that is inhibitory in vitro for cariogenic streptococci and that has strong cariostatic activity in vivo, appears to exert a bacteriostatic effect on Streptococcus faecalis. In S faecalis, the primary action of actinobolin seems to be in protein synthesis.
