Traumatic Disruption of the Developing Incisor in Rats

BERNARD A. LEVY 1

1 Department of Oral Pathology, School of Dentistry, Indiana University, Indianapolis, Indiana 46202

Physical trauma to the developing rat incisor caused impaction of the incisor and a complete loss of the ameloblastic layer. No ankylosis was observed, but the incisor did not erupt. Anomalous tooth formation resulted and cysts developed.
