Barium Sulfate—A Method for Symmetry Analysis

1 Department of Orthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

A method of symmetry analysis for dental arches and palate is described. Barium sulfate paste is applied to the buccal and labial surfaces of teeth, and the models are radiographed. The resulting silhouettes can then be subjected to symmietry analysis.
