Tooth Form as a Distinguishing Trait Between Sexes and Human Populations

KURT A. ROSENZWEIG 1

1 Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Dental Medicine, Jerusalem, Israel

The crown index (BL/MD x100) of maxillary and mandibular premolars and molars calculated from plaster casts from six Middle Eastern populations residing in Israel showed high group specificity for all teeth and in both sexes. Teeth from males tended not only to be absolutely larger, but also relatively larger in the BL dimension.
