Coupling Between Cells of the Trigeminal Mesencephalic Nucleus

C. F. L. HINRICHSEN 1

1 School of Anatomy, University of New South Wales, Kensington, Australia

Some trigeminal mesencephalic nucleus cells in the rat showed minimal diminution of an orthodromically induced action potential within the refractory period of a directly induced action potential. This indicated that the directly stimulated cell is electrotonically coupled to a cell that is not refractory and is capable of receiving orthodromic stimuli.
