Radiophosphorus studies were conducted in rats and hamsters to investigate the metabolic activity of various inorganic phosphates. Significant differences were observed in the metabolic availability and use of phosphate provided as various inorganic salts; the greatest metabolic activity was observed with NaH2PO4 and the least with most calcium salts.
