Changes in the cartilaginous layers of the condyle and in the calcifying matrix, in osteoblastic and osteoclastic activity, loss of primary trabeculae and hematopoietic elements of the marrow, plus a loss of vascularity and a decrease in size, were observed. Recovery after exposure to 600 R total body radiation was also observed.
