The present developmental study of the monophyodont teeth in six northern-fur-seal embryos [5, 8, 16, 18, 23, and 23.5 cm crown-rump (C-R) length] showed that the monophyodont teeth of the fur seal, first premolar and molars, are permanent teeth not preceded by deciduous teeth; ie, they belong to the second permanent dentition.
