Semiautomated Microanalysis of Levan and Dextran

Levan and dextran in quantities of 0.1 to 0.9 mg were determined by gel-filtering a solution containing the two polysaccharides and passing the effluent through a flow cell of an automatic polarimeter and then through an automated resorcinol-thiourea test for fructose.
