Microscopic Appearances of Tetracycline Deposition in Human Dentin

JOAN WEYMAN 1

1 The Dental School, University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Newcastle upon Tyne, England

Fluorescent bands of tetracycline deposition in human teeth were always more sharply demarcated on the side toward the amelodentinal junction than on the pulpal side. This probably is related to diminution of the drug serum level in connection with intake. A nonfluorescent space at the end of the band at the amelodentinal junction may be related to the mantle dentin.
