Potentials evoked from proprioceptors of the jaws, teeth, and tongue were recorded from the trigeminal mesencephalic nuclei. The jaw movement receptors responded in 65%, the tooth receptors in 35%, and the tongue receptors in 29% of the loci tested. The loci of the tongue receptors were bimodally distributed in the nucleus.
