Tracings of microradiographic projections were measured with a planimeter to assess bone-forming activity. Values for forming bone were higher in the maxilla than in the mandible. In femoral bone, the high to low values were in the metaphysis, the epiphysis, and the diaphysis, respectively. The inverse relationship was found between forming and static bone.
