Theoretical Analysis of Displacement and Force Distribution for the Tissue-Bearing Surface of Dentures

ROBERT S. LEDLEY 1

1 National Biomedical Research Foundation, Silver Spring, Maryland

A theoretical analysis and computation method uses engineering theory for computing the force distribution on tissues supporting complete dentures during function. For an applied food force and any denture and tissue shape, the force distribution is computed by using only the viscoelastic properties of the mucosa.
