A Mikulicz-like disease of the lacrimal glands occurred after six weekly subcutaneous injections of 10 mg of 5-hydroxytryptamine. The lacrimal glands of all experimental rats developed a dense lymphocytic infiltration that caused destruction of acinar cells.
