Six Swiss-Webster mice were given insections of Na2-35SO4, and autoradiograms were made of the maxillary incisor and of the skin. Also, special stains (aldehyde fuchsin, alcian blue. DDD, alizarin red S, and von Kossa) were employed.
The processes of keratinization and amelogenesis have analogous epithelial cells that produce keratin and sulfated acid mucopolysaccharide matrix, respectively. It is probable that this matrix attracts andl binds calcium salts.
