When an amino acid mixture was substituted for casein in a caries-producing diet, the occurrence of carious lesions in white rats increased slightly in the occlusal sulci and decreased strikingly on the smooth surfaces.
When an amino acid mixture was substituted for casein in a periodontal syndrome-producing diet, the destruction of the soft tissues of the periodontium in rice rats was greatly reduced and alveolar bone resorption was decreased.
