1. Although only the sagittal movement was analyzed in this study, it may be concluded that, theoretically considered, all articulators in common use have their movements in a cardioidal or a conchoidal instead of an elliptical path.
2. An attempt was made to prove that the choice of the type of articulators classified in this (and an earlier) investigation is of minor practical importance.
3. In practice it is of greater importance to have the disposal of a reliable recording method than of an articulator constructed on a theoretically correct basis.
