The sealing properties of methyl 2-cyanoacrylate adhesive were compared to those of different cementing materials currently used in dentistry. The adhesive and the cements were used to cement plastic onlays to flat surfaces of 36 extracted human teeth.
Methyl 2-cyanoacrylate adhesive exhibited superior sealing ability, which justified further investigation of this adhesive.
