Human saliva contains distinct Factor VII activity, which can be modified by oral anticoagulants (Table 5). Factor IX activity is present in small amounts and is not modified with oral anticoagulants. Any Factor x activity that may be present is too little to measure. No evidence is found for the presence of any prothrombin, or antithrombin.
