The citric acid in the blood from 60 persons with approximately normal periodontal tissues and that in the blood from 60 persons suffering severe and apparently degenerative periodontal disease were determined. The citric acid in the blood of the periodontal disease cases was significantly higher than that in the blood from periodontally normal cases.
