Electron microscopy of experimentally calcified oral filamentous microörganisms that were isolated from the dental plaque was carried out. Some features of the intracellular mineralization were illustrated. The intracellular mineralization seemed to occur independent of the formation of intermicrobial substance and its mineralization. Hydroxyapatiteas a component of the intracellular mineral depositswas demonstrated by the limited-area electron diffraction method.
