Three years following the initial topical treatment of children with a 4 per cent potassium fluorostannite solution there were 40 and 41 per cent less dental caries as evaluated by the DMFT and DMFS indices, respectively, when compared to a similar control group which received distilled water. These data indicate that the effectiveness is still highly significant at the end of 3 years.
