Separated and purified enamel and dentin from incisors, canines, and molars were analyzed for nitrogen content, KOH-ethylene glycol extractable fractions, and for components labile to heat at 900° C. The tissue residues from the KOH-ethylene glycol extracted tissues and from the ashed tissues were analyzed for calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium.
