Two years following the initial topical treatment of children with a 4 per cent potassium fluorostannite solution there were 47.5 and 38.5 per cent less dental caries as evaluated by the DMFT and DMFS indices, respectively, when compared to a similar control group which received distilled water. These 2-year data indicate that there was no significant loss in effectiveness when compared to the 1-year results.
