Analyses of total nitrogen in human, bovine, monkey, sheep, pig, goat, and dog dental pulp show no significant species differences. The nitrogen content appears to be fairly uniform in the various major anatomic regions of this organ but the total nitrogen seems to increase very slightly as the tissue becomes more mature. The mean total pulpal nitrogen determined by this study is 0.117 mg. per milligram of dried tissue.
