I. THE EFFECT OF SUGAR ON THE RATE OF DIFFUSION OF HYDROGEN ION

1. The rate of diffusion of hydrogen ion through a semipermeable membrane was studied under various conditions of sugar concentration.

2. It was found that the rate of diffusion of acid was inversely proportional to the concentration of sugar in the acid solution.
