1. A method is described for comparing the cleansing effectiveness of dentifrices by the observation of permanent records by several observers.
2. A dentifrice containing insoluble sodium metaphosphate as an abrasive proved more effective when used than did those containing chalk, tricalcium phosphate, or dicalcium phosphate.
