Thin sections for electron microscopy have been made from demineralized and undemineralized mouse and monkey enamel in various stages of development. Electron micrographs are presented which demonstrate a change from homogeneous to fibrillar structure which takes place in the organic matrix during maturation. Minute crystal-like particles have been noted in sections of undemineralized, partly calcified, monkey enamel.
