Investigations have been performed to test the effect of topical fluorine application upon the permeability of enamel of dogs 7 to 12 months old. After application of a 2 or 4 per cent sodium fluoride solution to the canines, these teeth were exposed for 38 to 44 hours to a toxin-fructose mixture, where the toxin titer was 1:100,000 and the fructose concentration 20 per cent. The permeability of the dental enamel was unchanged by treating the teeth with fluorine.
