A SELECTIVE MEDIUM FOR LACTOBACILLI COUNTS FROM SALIVA

The results of a selective medium based on sodium azide is presented. This selective medium is sodium azide 1 :10,000 in Hadley tomato agar.1 Excellent inhibition of contaminants present in saliva is obtained with little clinically significant alteration of the lactobacilli count.
