AMINO ACIDS IN HUMAN SALIVA

1 Department of Chemistry, College of Pharmacy, and the Department of Applied Materia Medica and Therapeutics, College of Dentistry, University of Illinois, Chicago, Ill.

The presence of 16 amino acids in human saliva as determined by microbiological methods has been reported.

Variations in the concentration of these acids were independent of caries activity.
