Pooled dry human teeth contained 680 mg. of citrate (expressed as citric acid) per 100 gm. and pooled dog teeth contained 540 mg. of citrate per 100 gm. Separate analyses of dentin and enamel indicated that dentin has from 5 to 8 times as much citrate as does enamel.
