From the data which has been obtained from the study of 513 patients receiving orthodontic treatment in the undergraduate clinic it is apparent that such treatment is less hazardous to the root structures when it is initiated at an early age. Moreover, the younger the patient at the onset of treatment, the more prolonged can the treatment be without permanent loss of root tip structure.
